Biography

Professor Dr Rachel Hellemans, MD PhD  graduated as a nephrologist in 2010 at the Antwerp University in Belgium. Since then, she is a full-time staff member at the Antwerp University Hospital and teacher at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Antwerp. She is actively involved in several clinical and epidemiological studies in the field of kidney transplantation and author of several papers published, among others, in the American Journal of Transplantation and Nephrology Dialysis and Transplantation. She is a board member of the ERA Descartes working group on kidney transplantation. In 2020, she participated in the ESOT learning Journey 2.0 workstream on  “Management of immunosuppressive therapy in potentially cured post-transplant cancer”.
