Biography

Renal and transplant pathologist at Amsterdam UMC and Leiden UMC, The Netherlands, research associate at the Van 't Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences, University of Amsterdam. My research group develops and validates quantitative computational models with the aim to improve patient care and better understand the progression of renal failure. Particular interests are multimodal data integration and multitask prediction models based on tissue analysis, i.e. deep learning models for histology and molecular pathology. Principal investigator of the DEEPGRAFT study, a multinational consortium currently comprising over 35.000 digital renal biopsy images.
