Learning Objectives

After this session, the attendees should be able:
- To know the state of the art about autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in autoimmune diseases, indications, preparative regimens, and complications
- To increase knowledge about donor selection, use of different preparative regimens, and relapse prevention strategies in patients with acute leukemia
- To understand the mechanisms by which an allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant can prevent the rejection of a solid organ transplant
- To know the available strategies for the prevention and treatment of PTLD
