Prof. Dr. Marcio F. Chedid, MD, PhD, is a Post-Graduate Professor of Surgery and an Attending Surgeon at the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery and Liver Transplantation of Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre, Medical School of UFRGS (HCPA-UFRGS). His current activities are to perform liver transplants and hepatobiliary operations. He also works as Master´s Degree Advisor. Prof. Chedid was the first surgeon to report successful performance of human pancreas transplantation utilizing IGL-1 preservation solution (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27163542). He has authored/co-authored 65 scientific medical articles, and is as a Review Editor of Frontiers in Surgery (Impact Factor = 2.44), Associate Editor of Lipids in Health and Disease (Impact Factor = 4.14) and World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery and Guest Editor of Current Pharmaceutical Design (Impact Factor =2.94). Prof. Chedid also has worked as peer reviewer for over 50 PubMed indexed scienfic journals for journals, including the American Journal of Transplantation, Transplantation, PLOS One, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, Annals of Hepatology and Clinical Transplantation.
