Javier C Lendoire, MD, Ph.D

Javier C Lendoire graduated with the Honor Degree at the University of Buenos Aires. His general surgical training was completed at the Hospital Español of Buenos Aires. In 1989 he was awarded with the Rotary Foundation Scholarship for International Understanding and began his training in Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation at the Transplant Division of the University of Pittsburgh in charge of Thomas Starzl. 

In 1993 Javier Lendoire as Vice Chairman opened with Oscar Imventarza the first Public Adult Liver Transplant Program of Argentina in the Hospital Dr C Argerich of Buenos Aires. Also, they developed the first Liver Transplant Program of the Litoral Region located in Formosa City and the Liver Tx and HPB Unit in Sanatorio Trinidad Mitre of Buenos Aires. Dr Lendoire became Chairman of Liver Transplantation at ITAC, Buenos Aires in 2019.

In 2003 he received his Ph.D from the University of Buenos Aires and in 2007 he was appointed Professor of Surgery at the same University.

Dr Lendoire is founding member and Past-President of the Argentine Society of Transplantation, Council Member since 2003 and Past President of the Argentine Chapter of the IHPBA (CA-IHPBA). He served as President of the AHPBA (2015-2016), member of the Scientific Committee of the IHPBA since 2008 and Chair for the AHPBA/IHPBA World Congress in 2022. Recipient of the 2019 AHPBA Nonie Lowry Distinguished Service Award.
