Alessandro is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Alberta's Health Law Institute. His academic research focuses on the creation and dissemination of health and science information. He has led and contributed to research projects exploring how various media have portrayed and discussed key health and science policy issues related to genetics, stem cell research and therapies, alternative health therapies, breastfeeding, vaccination, donation and transplantation, health-related marketing, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Of particular interest is the intersection of experts, scientific processes, the general public, and online media platforms. His work has been published in numerous academic journals and presented at national and international conferences.
